Pink Shirt Day

Last Friday we acknowledged Pink Shirt day at school.  Everyone was allowed to wear pink shirts to raise awareness about bullying. Our school does not want any form of bullying here, whether it be verbal, mental, physical, cyber or anything else.  We do not want it at our school, in our homes or in our lives. We want everyone to be happy and safe and enjoy schooling everyday.

In Social Studies last week we created our own CyberSmart posters and they look fabulous on the wall, here is a sample of a poster that Tyra created.

This is a snap shot of our classroom back wall and all the posters that the students made.

About us

We are a group of 25 Year 10 students at Bay of Islands College which is situated in Kawakawa, Northland, New Zealand.  Kawakawa is famous for the whare puke designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser from Austria it is also  well known as the only town in NZ that has a train running through the middle of it. There are many other great things about our small town.

We have 6 teachers for our different subjects plus our option subjects.
Our school has three houses Totara, Rata and Miro.  We are in the Miro House.
Our school day starts at 8.45am and it ends at 3.15pm. Students in our class come from all over the Bay of Islands.
